Erik Garcia

About

Erik Garcia is an artist from the mystical realm of magical reality. His music is inspired by the 1960’s psychedelic era, Old Weird America, and the mysteries of occult illuminations. He hails from Orange County, CA and is known to wear flowers in his hair and to sing with beauty and grace about the spiritual struggles of life.

The songs of Erik Garcia are a rich tapestry of the voices of the working class and of the sincere desire for there to be peace between people in honest pursuit of a more just world. It is fitting then that his music has a timbre of otherworldly insights, so as to allow the listener to dream as a dreamer might.

If you were to spend time with Erik Garcia you would find that he has a unique library of vinyl records, shellac, weird books and fascinating stories. He is a representative of another era, when it was cool to love and to be peaceful, when it was hip to use music to speak powerful truths, and when one was judged not for how they looked but for what they had to say. Erik Garcia’s music is music for the outsider in all of us.

Erik went to The University Of Southern California where he was known for writing dramatic beatnik poetry and reminding peers and esteemed elders, like Michael C. Ford, of Jim Morrison. He spent time in the desert with seekers and sages and he began to understand that his music was the gateway to his own salvation. It was then that he began his journey into discovering fantastic hidden truths and enlightening his audience with mesmerizing songs. Go on a journey to the outer limits of your mind, and then get even further out by turning on Erik Garcia’s debut album, Interstellar Ascension. His album is an extra dimensional trip into the cosmic sounds of your soul.

Erik is joined on this most fantastic adventure by Shawn Nourse (who played drums for Dwight Yoakam), Jason Chesney (of Michael Nesmith & The First National Band), Paul Marshall (from Strawberry Alarm Clock), Carl Byron (from The Spencer Davis Group), John Groover McDuffie (Musical Director for Rita Coolidge), and Paul Lacques (lead guitarist for I See Hawks In L.A.).

The music of Erik Garcia is the soundtrack of the future. Erik sings with a soulful, emotive sincerity that is reminiscent of Gram Parsons while his gritty, confident performances have drawn comparisons to Ron “Pigpen” McKernan. There is an intoxicating blend of ancient wisdom and poignant beauty in his work. Garcia’s music is where life and death reaches a sublime climax known as infinity. He knows what’s going on and he’s here to guide his audience to the stars. He is a poet, he is an artist and he is unlike anything the world has ever seen.
